Midlands of South Carolina Black Nurses Association receives $1,000 Award!
The COVID 19 pandemic has touched nearly every aspect of our daily lives, yet many of our brothers and sisters have been more impacted and disproportionately plagued during this conflicting, confusing and dangerous time.
The National Black Nurses Association in partnership with Dr. Shirley Evers-Manly and Sandra Evers-Manly, Founder and President of the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center are leading campaigns and insight to better understand how this pandemic and stay at home orders are impacting some of the most vulnerable populations in our country. The Midlands of South Carolina BNA was one of 16 chapters and projects that will be funded by a generous grant from Dr. Shirley Evers-Manly and Ms. Sandra Evers-Manly.
The funding was used to purchase bottled water, disposable utensils, and hygiene kits that were distributed to Oliver Gospel Mission, Palmetto Place, James Clark Memorial Sickle Cell Foundation. Diapers were donated to the Power in Changing, diaper bank.
