Our National President, Dr. Martha Dawson was on hand to provide welcome remarks on behalf of NBNA and Mayor Steven Benjamin attended and provided remarks. Member Lori Vick facilitated a panel discussion on sickle cell disease and this emotional and educational discussion was phenomenal. We presented the James E. Clark Sickle Cell Memorial Foundation with our Community Advocacy Award, and Representative John King with the Legislative Champion Award. Student member and Treasurer, Kamiya Shosan was presented with a $1,000 member acknowledgement award. We are grateful for the support of, and partnership with the UofSC College of Nursing for a successful event.
